Yusef Komunyakaa
Yusef Komunyakaa is an American poet and academic who currently teaches at New York University. A member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers, he has received numerous honors for his work, including the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award for Neon Vernacular. His other accolades include the 2001 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize and the 2007 Louisiana Writer Award.
