Spinoza

Baruch de Spinoza was a Portuguese-Dutch philosopher and a central figure of the early modern period. A key contributor to 17th-century rationalism and the Dutch Golden Age, his work significantly influenced modern biblical criticism and political thought. Beyond his philosophical contributions, Spinoza worked as an optician and lens grinder while engaging with the intellectual traditions of his time.
