Peter Paul Rubens

Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) was a Flemish artist and diplomat recognized as the most influential figure of the Flemish Baroque tradition. His work is noted for its movement, color, and sensuality, often referencing classical and Christian history. In addition to painting altarpieces, portraits, and landscapes, he was a prolific designer of tapestry cartoons and book frontispieces.
