M. H. Abrams

M. H. Abrams (1912–2015) was an American literary critic and scholar of English known for his influential work on Romanticism, most notably The Mirror and the Lamp. As the editor of The Norton Anthology of English Literature, he shaped undergraduate literary education in the United States and played a significant role in the formation of the literary canon.
