Ludwig Tieck

Johann Ludwig Tieck (1773–1853) was a prominent German poet, novelist, playwright, and literary critic. Recognized as a founding figure of the Romantic movement, he contributed significantly to literature as an editor and a translator of William Shakespeare. His extensive body of work also includes the collection of traditional fairy tales and various translations between English and German.
