Leon F. Litwack
Leon F. Litwack was an American historian specializing in the study of slavery, the Reconstruction Era, and their 20th-century legacies. He is the author of the 1979 book Been In the Storm So Long: The Aftermath of Slavery, which earned him a Pulitzer Prize, a National Book Award, and the Francis Parkman Prize. Throughout his career, he was also recognized with a Guggenheim Fellowship for his scholarly contributions.
