Dorothy Cheney

Dorothy Leavitt Cheney was an American primatologist and biologist who specialized in the social behavior, communication, and cognition of wild primates. She served as a professor of biology at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout her career, she was elected as a member of both the US National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences for her contributions to the field of ethology.
