Derrick Niederman
Derrick Niederman is an American mathematician, author, and game designer who holds a B.A. from Yale and a Ph.D. from MIT. Currently a professor at the College of Charleston, he is also a national squash champion. In 2025, he founded Wordsmith Games, the company behind the title Tosswords. His previous work includes the game 36 Cube, which is noted for its deceptively simple design and underlying mathematical complexity.
