Abbas Kiarostami

Abbas Kiarostami (1941–2016) was an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, photographer, and poet. Active since 1970, he directed over forty films, including the Koker trilogy, Close-Up, and the Palme d'Or-winning Taste of Cherry. His later career included international productions in Italy and Japan, cementing his reputation as one of the most influential figures in cinema history.
