Abbas

Abbas Kiarostami (1941–2016) was an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, photographer, and poet. Active since 1970, he directed over forty films, including the Koker trilogy, Close-Up, and the Palme d'Or-winning Taste of Cherry. His later career included international productions in Italy and Japan. Kiarostami is recognized for his significant influence on cinema, with multiple works frequently cited in critical polls as among the greatest films of all time.
